Lowe Confirms First-Ever Tour Supporting ‘Quality Street’ – “The Freshest Holiday Collection Of The Year” (LA Times) – With Ian McLagan Supporting On Most DateBefore the tour launches on December 3, Lowe will perform on A Prairie Home Companion from NYC’s Town Hall on November 29.
Released in 2013, ‘Quality Street’ was the most acclaimed holiday album of the year. Dubbed a “sleighbell-free zone” by Lowe, the album was hailed as “characteristically great” (New York Magazine) and “unimpeachably tasteful” (Washington Post). It features twelve new recordings, including three Lowe originals (one co-written with Ry Cooder), a song by Ron Sexsmith written expressly for the collection, covers of holiday favorites by Roger Miller and Wizzard, rarities and more – all performed in Nick’s singular style. Reviewing the album for the New York Times, Ben Ratliff wrote simply “He spoils you, this guy.”
Ian McLagan released ‘United States,’ his debut for Yep Roc, earlier this year. USA Today called it “soulful and unbridled.”

Help us celebrate Christmas in July with a new Nick record, Quality Street – the kind of record that gives vulgar, tawdry commercialism a good name.
Quality Street: A Seasonal Selection For All The Family is a twinkling blend of traditional hymns, forgotten gems and Lowe originals. From the opening rockabilly-charged “Children Go Where I Send Thee” and the comfy hush of “Christmas Can’t Be Far Away,” the record includes the beatnik bop of “Hooves on the Roof” (written especially for the project by Ron Sexsmith), Roger Miller’s wistful classic “Old Toy Trains,” before wrapping up with a ska-flavored take on “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day.”
Sample all 12 tracks now in the player below.
