In the countdown to venerable indie rock label Yep Roc’s 15th anniversary bash — an event which takes place 10/11-10/13 in Carrboro, NC — they’re letting some unreleased and rare stuff out of the vault each week. This week’s special is an unreleased Nick Lowe video for the song “Stoplight Roses,” a clip that features a forlorn-looking Paul F. Tompkins wandering away from a party to find a place to be alone. Christopher Storer directs. Watch it below.
Nick Lowe has confirmed a string of solo acoustic headlining tour dates this fall. The tour dates will include both east and west coast appearances; he will also be appearing at his label’s birthday bash, Yep Roc 15, in October in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Tickets for the Yep Roc 15 are currently on sale HERE. Tickets for tour dates will be on sale starting today in individual markets.
Today marks the 25th anniversary of NPR daily national program Fresh Air with Terry Gross. To celebrate, the show broadcasted a special airing with some of its favorite live musical performances from the past quarter century – including familiar Yep Roc faces Nick Lowe and John Doe.
